What is reiki?
Reiki (pronounced RAY-key) is a method of energy healing originally created in Japan. The word means 'life force energy,' similar to the understanding of qi, prana or vital force that permeates all living things. Reiki is a relaxing healing technique involving light touch with hands on or just above the body. Reiki sessions help to balance your body and mind and open up energy pathways for holistic healing within your body.
What is a session like?
A typical reiki session is a place for you to completely relax. We begin by getting an idea of your current physical, mental and emotional state. I may offer various suggestions for you, but otherwise, you do not have to 'do' anything in order to receive the benefits of reiki. Depending on your goals or challenge areas, most reiki sessions allow you to simply lie down and rest. You will feel extremely calm, perhaps other sensations such as warmth, tingling, or pressure.
How can reiki benefit me?
Reiki has a wide variety of benefits and can do no harm. It is always an excellent stress-reducer, often assisting with rest and sleep as well as healing within the body. Your body will naturally draw reiki towards whatever areas need the most attention. Depending on your awareness of energy, you may or may not feel immediate physical sensations, but reiki always works to optimize your health and well-being.
